Position: Registered Nurse - Panama City, FL - PART TIME
TOC is a well renowned orthopedic practice and has been in business for almost 50 years with subspecialties in trauma, foot and ankle, spine, hand, adult reconstruction, pediatrics, pain management, and sports medicine. The practice is located strategically throughout North Florida and South Georgia with 7 regional offices and two Tallahassee campuses. Ancillary endeavors include on site X-ray, MRI, Physical Therapy, Ambulatory Surgery Centers, Urgent Care Centers, and Orthotics and Prosthetics.

TOC fields team physicians for Florida State University (FSU), Florida A&M University (FAMU), and Tallahassee Community College (TCC), as well as numerous area high schools. TOC has opened an exciting, new regional office in Panama City.

TOC is currently recruiting a Registered Nurse (RN) to work part-time (PRN) under the guidance of a physician specializing in pain management. Position would assist and participate in all aspects of the medical and surgical care of pain management patients by providing diagnostic, preventative, and therapeutic health services to patients. Duties include preparing patients for surgery, including education, positioning, and skin preparation;

performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures; assisting in surgery (when appropriate) as delegated by the physician; order, dispense, and administer medication as allowed by state legislation; evaluate, screen, and counsel patients on health maintenance and promote utilization of community resources; manage the discharge of patients with appropriate education; respond to telephone inquiries of patients and provide appropriate medical recommendations; communicate with referring or primary care physicians regarding patient care and treatment;

and perform other responsibilities associated with this position as deemed appropriate.

Desired characteristics are the ability to effectively communicate and work alongside physicians, families, staff, and other health care professionals and management; maintain confidentiality; and work as a true team player seeking continuously to improve the quality of care provided by the Orthopedic surgeon. Must have knowledge of medical terminology, especially within orthopedics, and the ability to take a detailed medical history, follow verbal and standing orders, use an electronic medical record software, and understand the use of office equipment and Microsoft computer applications.

Credentials:
Associate's degree in nursing is required. (Bachelor's degree preferred). Must have valid Florida licensure (or eligible).

Previous experience in pain management is helpful.

Schedule:

Must be available on Tuesday between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Position is PRN on these days.
