Overview
Take the lead in a fast-paced Emergency Department as a Nurse Manager, overseeing a team of skilled RNs dedicated to high-quality, patient-centered care. This role offers operational leadership, staff development, and the opportunity to implement performance improvement initiatives while shaping the patient experience in a high-volume setting.
Responsibilities- Oversee daily operations of the Emergency Department, ensuring quality care and efficient workflow
- Manage staffing, scheduling, and FTE assignments to meet patient volume and acuity needs
- Provide direct supervision, mentorship, and coaching to ED staff
- Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory standards
- Facilitate new employee onboarding and integration into the team
- Conduct performance evaluations, support conflict resolution, and implement disciplinary actions as needed
- Collaborate with medical staff and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient care
- Implement quality checks and performance improvement initiatives for patient safety and operational efficiency
- Assist with clinical procedures and case management as required
- Monitor and report on department data for decision-making and continuous improvement
- Required: Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid Florida license or compact license (FL RN license required within 90 days if holding out-of-state compact license)
- Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma from an accredited institution
- 35 years of acute care ED leadership experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS/BCLS) certification within 30 days of hire
- Preferred: Advanced Nurse Practitioner license acceptable
- Experience managing high-volume EDs with 50+ FTEs
- Strong leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills
- Competitive salary range: $86,000-$116,000
