Phlebotomist

Job Description:

Requirement/Must Have:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 3 years of phlebotomy experience, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
• Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent phlebotomy skills.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver license if applicable.
• Keyboard and data entry experience.

• Phlebotomy experience in clinical and forensic specimen collection.
• Patient Service Center experience preferred.
• Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.

• Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
• Maintain a safe and professional environment.
• Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing following established practices and procedures.
• Verify patient demographic information and obtain patient signature post-venipuncture to confirm correct tube labeling.
• Maintain required records and documentation.
• Promote a positive organizational image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
• Demonstrate leadership behaviors with a focus on process excellence and confidentiality.

• Flexibility to support staffing needs, including varied schedules.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
• Strong customer focus and communication skills.
• Ability to adapt to change and exercise good judgment based on established procedures.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred.
