Primary Responsibilities- Perform most of the work individually, with essential tools provided, holding accountability for maintenance.
- Work timely and expeditiously to deliver an on‑time product without manufacturing errors.
- Perform other duties as directed by leaders and management.
- Actively participate in department safety, demonstrating excellent safety practices and behaviors that comply with all safety policies, OSHA regulations, and PPE requirements.
- Embrace Lean Manufacturing culture and support continuous improvement.
- Identify and communicate maintenance or product problems to departmental supervision.
- Show passion, integrity, and a drive to excel and deliver exceptional results.
- Apply coatings (paint) to protect workpiece surfaces using spray guns or brushes.
- Examine finished surfaces to verify conformance to specifications and retouch any defective areas.
- Clean and maintain tools and equipment using solvents, brushes, and rags.
- Read blueprints, SOPs, and inspect work pieces to determine work procedures and materials required.
- Select and mix ingredients to prepare coating substances according to specifications, using mechanical mixers.
- Prepare surfaces for coating with cleaning fluids, solvents, brushes, scrapers, sandpaper, or cloth.
- Carry out all duties in accordance with the Quality Assurance procedures and departmental SOPs.
- Contribute to general improvements in the quality of key activities within the department.
- Comply with all company and safety policies and procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a heavy manufacturing environment.
- Thorough knowledge of industrial painting procedures and practices essential for product quality.
- Pass a drug screen and background check.
- Obtain a painter's certification through internal or external sources.
- Calculate formulas using basic mathematics and both U.S. and metric measurements.
- Read and interpret work instructions, blueprints, manufacturing drawings, or similar information.
- Stand for long periods while using spray guns and/or a high‑pressure blast hose.
- Wear a fresh air supplied blast helmet for up to 10–12 hours a day.
