Beveler Operator responsibilities include operating beveling and grinding equipment, moving steel plates, following daily build schedules, performing quality inspections, repairing defects, and ensuring timely, error-free production. The role requires individual work with accountability for tool maintenance, adherence to safety policies and OSHA regulations, participation in Lean Manufacturing initiatives, and communication of maintenance or product issues to supervisors.
Primary Responsibilities- Work from the directions of the supervisor to move steel plate, set up and operate the beveling and grinding equipment, follow and complete daily build schedule.
- Bevel and grind prior to presenting it to the Quality Inspectors; repair defects as directed by the Quality Inspectors.
- Perform most of the work individually; essential tools will be provided, however, accountability and maintenance will be the employee’s responsibility.
- Work timely and expeditiously to deliver an on‑time product without manufacturing errors.
- Perform other duties as directed by leaders and management.
- Actively participate in department safety; demonstrate excellent safety practices and behaviors which conform to all safety policies and procedures, follow all OSHA safety regulations and wear prescribed PPE as required.
- Embrace a culture of Lean Manufacturing and the implementation of change.
- Identify and communicate maintenance or product problems to departmental supervision.
- Must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results.
- Perform all work‑related tasks as assigned.
- Carry out all duties in accordance with the Quality Assurance procedures and departmental work instructions.
- Contribute to general improvements in the quality of key activities within the department.
- Comply with all Keystone Tower Systems Company and Safety policies and procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 0–3 years of experience in a heavy manufacturing environment.
- A thorough knowledge of metal working procedures and practices is essential to ensure the quality of the product.
- Ability to calculate formulas using basic mathematics, standard U.S. and Metric Measurements.
- Able to read and interpret work instructions, blueprints, manufacturing drawings or similar information.
