During the Summer, holiday break and spring break student employees are allowed to work a maximum of 25 hours per week. Summer only, students must be enrolled in 3 or more credit hours.

Student employees must always maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher.

Job Duties /Skills/Requirements

The Art and Music Lab Assistant is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the art and music labs at Moraine Valley Community College. This role involves maintaining a clean and organized lab environment, assisting students, and troubleshooting basic equipment issues.

  • Eligibility Requirements:
    • Must have completed an introductory course in art or music at Moraine Valley Community College. Courses from other institutions do not qualify.
    • For art lab positions, eligible courses include:
      Ceramics I, Digital Photography, Printmaking I, 2D Design, 3D Design, and Intro to Computer Art.
    • In order to work in the art or music lab you must have taken the introductory class in that area or have equivalent experience in ART or MUSIC. This is NOT a science lab.
    • For example, you must have taken Ceramics I in order to work in the Ceramics lab.
    • This position may require a background check. Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
