About Our ClientAddison Group is partnering with a reputable healthcare practice to hire a Surgical Coordinator. This role supports a high-volume provider and plays a key part in ensuring procedures are scheduled, authorized, and communicated efficiently across all parties involved.
Job DescriptionThe Surgical Coordinator will manage the coordination of surgical procedures from initial scheduling through post-procedure follow-up. This position requires strong medical terminology knowledge, experience working with workers’ compensation and third-party cases, and the ability to stay organized in a fast-paced clinical setting.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and schedule surgical procedures, including patient intake, pre-operative requirements, and post-procedure follow-up
- Serve as the primary point of contact between providers, patients, facilities, and external stakeholders
- Manage workers’ compensation and third-party cases, maintaining consistent communication with attorneys, adjusters, and insurance carriers
- Track and obtain authorizations, approvals, and required documentation
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records within the electronic medical record system
- Support administrative tasks such as calendar management and coordination of related appointments
- Assist with billing follow-up and help resolve insurance or payment-related issues as needed
- Deliver a high level of service while managing a high-volume surgical schedule
- Previous surgical scheduling or coordination experience preferred
- Experience with workers’ compensation and third-party cases
- Strong understanding of medical terminology
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Confident, direct communicator who is receptive to feedback
- Bilingual skills are a plus
- EMR experience required (Next Gen preferred)
- High-volume surgical schedule (approximately 25 cases per week)
