World
37 is building an AI-native interactive storytelling platform where every character operates as a stateful agent with persistent memory, evolving relationships, and dynamic emotional behavior. Unlike traditional branching narrative systems, World
37 combines a structured narrative engine, long‑term memory architecture, and high‑fidelity 3D environments to create living story worlds that adapt to player decisions over time. Our goal is to build the foundational infrastructure for narrative simulation across entertainment, beginning with a mobile‑first interactive fiction experience.
World
37 is hiring a Lead Technical Artist to architect and scale the visual and technical foundation of our 3D storytelling pipeline. This role sits at the intersection of real‑time rendering, character systems, and production tooling. You will define asset standards, optimize performance across mobile constraints, design lighting and camera systems that enhance narrative immersion, and build scalable workflows that support AI‑driven scene generation.
You will work directly with the founder to evolve the Unity‑based pipeline, integrate character customization systems, and ensure that environments, shaders, rigs, and animations remain both visually compelling and technically efficient. This is a hands‑on role for someone who wants to shape the visual language and technical backbone of a new category of interactive media.
You have deep experience in Unity or a comparable real‑time engine, with strong knowledge of rendering pipelines, shaders, lighting systems, and performance optimization for mobile or constrained platforms. You are fluent in scripting and tooling, with the ability to build editor extensions and pipeline automation that improve iteration speed. You understand character systems, rigging constraints, blend shapes, and modular asset construction.
You think in systems, not assets, and care about how art decisions scale across production. Experience working with stylized 3D characters and narrative‑driven environments is highly valued. Prior exposure to AI‑assisted content generation or procedural systems is a plus, but not required.
