Assistant Manager – J.Crew
We’re looking for a dedicated leader to join our J.Crew team as an Assistant Manager. In this role, you’ll help drive profitability through genuine customer connections, brand loyalty, and community engagement.
Job SummaryAs an Assistant Manager, you'll partner with the Store Director and Associate Store Manager to support business results, manage operations, and coach front‑line associates. You’ll help shape strategy, maintain operational excellence, and ensure our customers receive best‑in‑class service.
What You’ll Do- Support the Store Director & Associate Store Manager to directly impact business results with a meaningful connection to every aspect of the brand while maximizing profitability.
- Own your designated division of responsibility (Visual Merchandising, Operations, HR, Service & Selling, etc.)
- Manage store operations, systems, and technology while ensuring accountability.
- Assist with recruiting, training, and development efforts as needed.
- Partner to create a collaborative working environment for all associates.
- Ensure the team is always on track to exceed goals and provide best‑in‑class customer service.
- Lead fit sessions that boost product knowledge for associates to elevate authentic customer connection.
- Develop innovative ways to engage the community and build loyalty through events.
- Step into a variety of roles on the sales floor when needed.
- Have 1–2 years of retail management experience with a similar scope.
- Passionately support our brand, customers, and teams.
- Stay up to date with current fashion trends and industry developments.
- Embrace teamwork, flexibility, and courtesy while executing tasks.
- Innovate and champion new ideas while navigating uncertainty, demonstrating strong problem‑solving skills.
- Have scheduling flexibility, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Can lift, carry, and move at least 40 pounds (18 kilos) and reach, bend, stretch for product as required.

Hourly Range: $24.00 – $30.00
Base salary takes into account internal equity and may vary by location, experience, and qualifications. Our total rewards strategy includes bonus opportunities, competitive benefits, and perks.
