Lanteris Space Systems is hiring a Spacecraft Propulsion Technician based at our Palo Alto location.
Responsibilities- Assemble and integrate spacecraft propulsion components (tanks, prop lines, valves, regulators, thrusters, brackets, heater circuits, sensors).
- Perform precision tube/line fabrication and installation (layout, bend, fit, flare, square as required) to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Perform prop lines welding using orbital welder at bench & system levels (in the lab & at spacecraft).
- Execute propulsion system leak checks & system functional testing (valve cycling, regulator set‑points, instrument checks, pressure testing, proof/burst support activities and purge operations).
- Support In‑house & Launch Base Initial/Final Reference Performance Test (IRPT & FRPT).
- Support hazardous operations with strict safety discipline (compressed gases, pressure systems, chemical propulsion, hypergolic propellant at launch base).
- Operate standard lab/shop equipment (torque tool, pressure transducers, vacuum pumps, etc.).
- Troubleshoot build/test issues with engineering and quality, perform rework per approved procedures.
- Must be US Citizen or permanent resident.
- 4 years of hands‑on experience in propulsion, hydraulics/pneumatics, or related work experience.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics and written work instructions.
- Able to wear Self‑Contained Atmospheric Protective Ensemble (SCAPE) suits to handle hazardous materials at launch base.
- Able to travel up to 3 times per year for about 3 weeks per trip.
- Participate in weekend and off‑shift crews to meet critical schedules when overtime is needed.
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs. (with assistance/tools as needed), stand for extended periods, and work in constrained spacecraft volumes.
- Able to work on ladders, platforms, and man lift to 18 feet high.
- Ability to support off‑shift operations during critical integration/test campaigns.
- Able to work in team environment.
- Support hazardous operations with strict safety discipline (compressed gases, pressure systems, chemical propulsion, hypergolic propellant at launch base).
- Operate standard lab/shop equipment (torque tool, pressure transducers, vacuum pumps, etc.).
- Troubleshoot build/test issues with engineering and quality, perform rework per approved procedures.
- Experience with epoxy/adhesive bonding, safety wire, precision torque practices.
- Comfortable working in a cleanroom and following strict process controls & documentation.
- Must be detail oriented with strong safety awareness.
In support of pay transparency at Lanteris Space Systems, the base pay for this position in California is: $27.60 - $46.00 hourly
