Role
Summary:
The Operations Engineering Manager is a member of the Operations Leadership Team who is responsible for designing, optimizing, and troubleshooting manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. They work collaboratively with all operations teams to implement functions, ensuring alignment with broader business goals. This role oversees the day-to-day operations of the facilities and special projects teams, identifying areas to optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure the timely delivery of products.
Key Responsibilities (others may be assigned as business needs dictate):
- Uphold and promote the Company’s mission, vision, and core values across all operations.
- Lead by example in adherence to Company policies, procedures, and safety standards in accordance with the Employee Manual, Safety Manual, and departmental guidelines.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cost control for facilities operations and capital or special projects.
- Ensure timely, accurate, and cost-effective delivery of goods and services.
- Analyze existing manufacturing and logistics processes and drive continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean manufacturing and automation efforts.
- Investigate operational and production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to maintain specifications and quality standards.
- Develop and execute a strategic facilities and projects playbook to support scalability and long-term growth.
- Design, implement, and manage production processes, including automated systems, equipment lines, and fabrication methods.
- Plan equipment layouts, oversee installation of new machinery, and troubleshoot or repair existing equipment to minimize downtime.
- Provide technical support and cost estimates for new product introductions, equipment upgrades, and process changes.
- Develop and maintain documentation, including standard operating procedures, process records, and training materials.
- Train operations staff on new equipment, systems, and processes.
- Conducts cost analyses to estimate production times, resource requirements, and total operational costs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Processing, Logistics, Sourcing, Sales, and Finance to support overall business objectives.
- Evaluate and implement new technologies that enhance operational efficiency and performance.
- Stay current on industry trends, regulatory requirements, and emerging technologies.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Facilities and Special Projects teams to foster a high-performance culture.
- Manage repairs, inspections, and compliance with applicable safety, environmental, and operational regulations.
- Analyze production and performance metrics to reduce downtime and improve throughput.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies for equipment, services, and facilities-related needs.
- Negotiate vendor contracts and manage supplier relationships to ensure quality and cost effectiveness.
- Partner with senior leadership to align operational initiatives with overall Company strategy.
- Attend and participate in Company meetings, training sessions, and leadership initiatives as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related technical field required.
- 7+ years of experience in operations engineering, manufacturing, or industrial operations, including leadership responsibilities.
