Data Science Manager, Product Designer
Overview
We’re building the next generation of AI-powered patent-infringement analysis tools, and we’re looking for an innovative, strategic Product Manager to lead this effort. This role blends product strategy, machine learning, and IP expertise to create a transformative solution for legal teams, patent attorneys, and R&D organizations.
🔍 About the Role
As our Product Manager, you will drive the vision, roadmap, and execution of a new AI Legal Tech product focused on patent-infringement detection, claim mapping, and portfolio risk analysis. You’ll work cross-functionally with engineering, data science, legal experts, and customers to turn complex IP workflows into intuitive, scalable technology.

What You'll Do- Conduct deep discovery with patent litigators, in-house counsel, and IP analysts to understand pain points in infringement review, claim interpretation, and prior-art search.
- Develop product strategy, feature definitions, and roadmap for AI-driven patent-infringement detection.
- Translate legal workflows into technical requirements for engineering and machine-learning teams.
- Define user stories, acceptance criteria, and UX flows for dashboards, claim charts, and automated reports.
- Drive cross-functional coordination between engineering, legal subject-matter experts, sales, and design.
- Lead beta programs, analyze feedback, refine product-market fit, and scale early wins.
- Establish KPIs for accuracy, performance, user satisfaction, and adoption.
- Support go-to-market efforts, including demos, product collateral, pricing, and customer education.
- 1+ years of relevant law practice in patent law
- Product Management experience in SaaS, AI/ML, Legal Tech, or related fields.
- Prior experience in patent litigation is highly valuable, providing first-hand insight into claim construction, infringement analysis, and legal evidence standards.
- Strong understanding of patent tools (e.g., USPTO/EPO databases, prior-art search platforms, IP analytics solutions, claim-analysis tools, docketing systems).
- Ability to collaborate closely with data scientists and engineers building NLP/ML solutions.
- Excellent communication skills across technical and legal audiences.
- Experience with agile development and user-research methodologies.
- Experience in patent prosecution, IP analytics, licensing, or competitive intelligence.
- Familiarity with LLMs, semantic search, embeddings or classification models.
- Knowledge of USPTO, EPO, WIPO, or other global patent data sources.
- Comfort working with enterprise customers and complex legal workflows.
- Delivering an MVP that meaningfully reduces time spent on infringement review.
- Achieving strong accuracy benchmarks for AI-generated claim mapping and risk scoring.
- Earning adoption and positive feedback from attorneys, IP teams, and corporate clients.
- Helping establish our platform as a must-have tool for legal and R&D organizations.
