If you are selected, you will join a collaborative team of neuromuscular investigators and contribute to describing and understanding the impact of treatments in neuromuscular disorders.

The Neuromuscular Division of Neurology is seeking a Research Data Analyst (RDA), with clinical data management experience to utilize knowledge from research tools to conduct and analyze research data ensuring efficiency and regulatory compliance; collect, compile and perform statistical analysis, data reports and management.

The division is exploring novel approaches to quantify movement through wearable and video technology and develop methods of analyzing MRI data to characterize disease health for individuals with neuromuscular disease. The role supports clinical data collection systems, primarily using REDCap for database design and form creation, and aligns with administrative and research data governance. The successful candidate would serve as the primary data manager for multiple clinical research studies, ensuring data integrity, regulatory compliance, and efficient data flow from collection through analysis.

Learning SQL or experience with Google Cloud is preferred.

Projects involve working with both pediatric and adult participants in lab and clinical environments. There are opportunities for long-term growth within the team with the ability to gain critical skills for a career in biomedical sciences. Studies will be conducted at the Stanford University Medical Center.

Duties
  • Collect, manage and clean datasets.
  • Employ new and existing tools to interpret, analyze, and visualize multivariate relationships in data.
  • Use system reports and analyses to identify potentially problematic data, make corrections, determine root cause for data problems from input errors or inadequate field edits, and suggest solutions.
  • Develop reports, charts, graphs and tables for use by investigators and for publication and presentation.
  • Collaborate with faculty and research staff on data collection and analysis methods.
  • Communicate with government officials, grant agencies and industry representatives.
  • Design, develop, and maintain REDCap databases.
  • Data compliance and governance.
  • Other duties may also be assigned.
Qualifications
  • 1-2 years experience in acquiring and/or processing data signals requiring technical skill and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with basic programming and scripting (e.g., R, Python, MATLAB, SQL).
  • Strong general computer skills and ability to quickly learn and master computer programs.
  • Experience in data science with applied statistics, data visualization and communication.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and various EDC programs.
  • Experience with databases, data management, REDCap, IRB requirements and Stanford clinical research environment is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to determine workload priorities, meet deadlines and manage tasks efficiently.
