Overview
The Department of Pediatrics and Division of Medical Genetics at Stanford University is seeking an experienced Academic Program Professional 2 to lead and manage the newly established SLC
29A3 related conditions research program, a donor-funded initiative established to improve the lives of patients and families affected by this rare immunologic disease. This is a unique opportunity to participate in the launch and operations of a research program positioned to benefit patients globally. Under the direction of the Program Faculty Director and in close collaboration with a faculty leadership team, the Program Manager will be responsible for advancing the vision, strategy, and goals of the program.
The Program Manager will lead the administrative activities of the program, manage a multi-disciplinary research program, support the identification of new research activities for funding support, coordinate progress reporting, and lead community engagement and outreach efforts focused on research, clinical and patient stakeholders.
The Program Manager will serve as a primary liaison to stakeholders across Stanford and beyond—including academic collaborators, donors and patient advocates—and will play a key role in shaping the program’s communications and collaborations. As the program evolves, the Program Manager will also contribute to philanthropic stewardship and sustainability efforts, working closely with institutional partners to prepare grant proposals and manuscripts, track deliverables, and support donor engagement through strategic reporting and impact documentation.
The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in academic program development, research administration, and stakeholder engagement, with a proven ability to lead complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives. This is an exceptional opportunity for a mission-driven leader to help accelerate scientific discovery and improve the lives of patients and families affected by important rare conditions related to SLC
29A3 gene function.
