Logistics Associate – Relief Days – 6:30am-3:00pm (08-HR) Non-Benefited – Stanford Health Care (PALO ALTO, 300 Pasteur Dr, California) – Job : R2549708 – Onsite
OverviewThe Logistics Associate is responsible for supporting the operations of the Distribution & Logistics Department for SHC and SMCH. The role includes participation in breakout, storage, and product return of clean and sterile items for inpatient and surgical settings; basic order entry; customer service; inventory management; supply and linen replenishment; cart builds; and maintaining relevant records. The associate participates in departmental patient safety and performance improvement initiatives and performs related duties as assigned.
WhatYou Will Do
- Abide by all Joint Commission Requirements including sensitivity to cultural diversity, patient care, patient rights, ethical treatment, safety, security of physical environments, emergency management, teamwork, respect for others, ongoing education and training, communication, and adherence to safety and quality programs.
- Perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Service Standards of Hospital(s).
- Assist with the training and orientation of new staff.
- Replenish all Supply Chain managed stocking locations (PAR locations, asset inventory location, caddies, case carts, procedural carts, crash carts, bedside carts) with a 100% fill accuracy rate verified by audits or supervisor observation.
- Conform to standard procedures for storing and distributing supplies in line with Federal, State, and regulatory agencies including IPC, Joint Commission, AAMI, AORN and SUMC safety guidelines.
- Assess, identify, and respond to urgent or stat requests efficiently and appropriately.
- Handle stat requests for items, carts, linen, caddies, boxes, crash carts, bedside carts, and case carts on all shifts.
- Inventory and restock all Supply Chain managed locations with a mobile handheld device.
- Participate in ongoing training and education needed for job functions.
- Maintain a professional work environment; keep work area clean, organized, and practice good time management.
- Maintain professional behavior, appearance, and promote a positive environment through communication, diversity awareness, and teamwork.
- Maintain acceptable attendance and punctuality per department policy.
- Manage information using appropriate manual or electronic systems for shift work activity.
- Report discrepancies or unusual activities to Lead/Supervisor.
- Perform correct breakout of all products using sound practices that protect product packaging integrity.
- Ensure timely delivery and pickup of standing and requested orders for supplies, linen, and medical gas cylinders.
- Partner and coordinate with biomedical services to locate, store, maintain and distribute medical equipment.
- Work collaboratively with peers to achieve departmental goals and fulfill the organization’s vision.
- Receive and process phone orders for supplies, linen, medical gas cylinders, and equipment via order entry process; generate purchase requisitions and send to appropriate department.
- Enter data into electronic database.
- Restock and redistribute returned products; follow guidelines for accepting return of clean, unused, unopened products.
- Follow recommended practices and ensure proper stock rotation to prevent expired products for clinical/surgical use.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum one year of inventory management and/or materials handling and restocking experience.
