Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT) - Cardiac Cath Lab
1.0 FTE Full‑time Day - 10 Hour shift. 500 Pasteur Dr, California. The department averages about 20‑35 cases a day.

- Novice level: work with minimal supervision in EP within the first 6 months and be independent within one (1) year.
- Device implant (ICD’s, PPM, BI‑V, SICD, REVEAL, explants, lead extractions).
- Diagnostic EP studies.
- Interventional EP procedures.
- Scrub assistance during EP procedures.
- Proficient on sterile technique.
- Connect, operate, and troubleshoot EP equipment including 3‑D mapping systems, stimulation systems, intra‑cardiac echocardiography and EP monitoring and recording systems.
- 12‑lead placements and mapping patch placement.
- Independently pull all supplies and ancillary equipment for procedures.
- Enter patient demographics in imaging equipment.
- Basic understanding of heart anatomy, hemodynamics, intra‑cardiac and EKG interpretation.
- Basic understanding of EP procedures, pacing protocols and intra‑cardiac intervals.
- Basic understanding of an EP stimulator (bloom, bloom
2). Independently run an EP study and take baseline measurements. - Perform routine cleaning of the procedural area and equipment.
- Verify and complete all documentation (EPIC, Philips Xper, LS Pro and Inventory System).
- Correctly archive images in Cardiac PACS and Radiology PACS.
- Correctly archive EP cases.
- Associate's Degree
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
- One (1) year of Cath Angio Lab‑EP work–related experience
Skills and Abilities
- Basic principles of EP, protocols, techniques, EKG recognition and interpretation of cardiac arrhythmias.
- Basic principles of radiation and imaging techniques.
- Basic procedure supplies.
- Safety requirements of procedures.
- Basic anatomy and physiology related to procedures.
- Basic procedure indications, disease processes and treatment options.
- Basic interpretation of cardiovascular arrhythmias and 12‑lead EKG.
- Acceptable communications skills.
- Build trusting relationships with colleagues and patients.
- Apply CI Care principles to patients, visitors, physicians and coworkers.
- BLS – Basic Life Support
- ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 180 days
- One of the following at time of hire: RCIS – Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist, RCES – Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist, IBHRE – International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners, CEPS – Certified Electrophysiology Specialist.

Base Pay Scale:
Generally starting at $70.47 – $79.37 per hour.
