REGISTERED NURSE – GERIATRIC
VA Palo Alto Health Care System
Menlo Park, CA and Palo Alto, CA
Contract Position
Pay: $70 to $85 per hour
Full Time. 40 hours per week
1.0 FTE. Long term federal contract
Position OverviewProvide direct nursing care to geriatric veterans in inpatient and long-term care settings across the VA Palo Alto Health Care System. Initial assignment at Menlo Park with potential rotation to Palo Alto main campus and other VAPAHCS locations.
Duties- Perform comprehensive patient assessments
- Administer medications and treatments
- Monitor chronic and acute conditions
- Coordinate care with providers and interdisciplinary teams
- Document in VA electronic medical record
- Follow VA clinical policies and infection control standards
- Day, evening, or rotating shifts
- Monday through Friday with possible weekends
- Federal holidays observed
- Active RN license in any US state
- BLS required. ACLS preferred
- Minimum 1 year recent geriatric, med-surg, or long-term care experience
- Ability to pass VA background and credentialing
- Full time, on-site
- Multi-year potential with extensions
