JOB SUMMARYThis paragraph summarizes the general nature, level and purpose of the job.
Responsibilities- Responsible for responding to needs of patients, family members and staff, designated in consultation with the Manager, Spiritual Care Services, and functions as a member of the Spiritual Care Service staff.
- Coordinate all services to a specific in-patient unit(s) or groups; serve as chaplain on assigned patient unit(s); and participate as staff for the Spiritual Care Service in care conferences for such units.
- Provide spiritual care assessment, intervention and support for patients and their families.
- Provides interfaith spiritual assessment and interventions which enable patients, family members, visitors, and staff to draw upon their own cultural, spiritual, and religious resources.
- Serves as staff on and coordinates care with multi-disciplinary teams for designated patient units and groups. Ensure appropriate spiritual care assessment and intervention for patients, family, and visitors.
- Performs special spiritual services (baptisms, memorials, etc.) as requested by the Spiritual Care Service and as appropriate to professional functioning.
- Provides internal and external teaching and outreach on spiritual care topics.
- Coordinates care with other Chaplains, Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) students, guest services, and volunteers, and, as time permits, medical and genetics counseling students.
- Participates in research activities undertaken by Spiritual Care Service.
- Serves as a liaison to area faith communities/congregations as requested.
- Assists in reviewing and initiating programs within the department.
- Performs specialized duties specific to the role, such as serving on specialized committees, performing particular religious functions/services, and/or coordinating volunteers.
- Participates as an alternate in the on-call rotation when needed.
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.
Education: Master’s degree in Spirituality, Religious Studies, Divinity or from an accredited graduate program or the equivalent, and at least 4 units of Clinical Pastoral Education at an APCE accredited program.
Experience: Two (2) years of directly related work experience.
License / Certification: None Required

Additional InformationPay Range
Compensation is based on the level and requirements of the role. Salary within our ranges may also be determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and abilities, as required by the role, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
Typically, new team members join at the minimum to mid salary range.
Minimum to Midpoint Range (Hourly): $37.28 to $49.43
