Management
The Senior Accounting Manager will play a key role in the continued evolution of the firm’s corporate finance and accounting function. This is a high-impact position within a lean team, offering meaningful ownership over management company accounting, budgeting, and systems modernization. This role offers the opportunity to help evolve a Quick Books- and Google Sheets-based accounting and FP&A environment into a more scalable, automated future.
The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting fundamentals, operational judgment, and experience leading accounting system implementations and process improvement initiatives. Familiarity with venture capital or private equity management company accounting—and its interaction with fund finance—is strongly preferred. We are willing to relocate a candidate if they are the right fit!
- Own and manage the day-to-day financial operations of the company's Management Company, including general ledger oversight, accounts payable, financial statement preparation, and ongoing FP&A activities (budgeting, forecasting, general P&L management).
- Assist with preparation of the global consolidated management company budget, including quarterly reforecasts and detailed variance analysis.
- Design, oversee, and continuously improve expense allocation methodologies across multiple entities, with a focus on automation and scalability.
- Lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of new accounting and FP&A systems for the Management Company.
- Improve AP/AR efficiency, including process enhancements involving and potential outsourcing solutions.
- Partner cross-functionally with stakeholders, balancing financial discipline with business needs and competing priorities.
- Experience with accounting system implementations, process documentation, invoice management, and administrative outsourcing.
- Strong management reporting and operational analytics background.
- Demonstrated experience establishing, managing, and maintaining budgets.
- Proven ability to work with senior stakeholders, communicate clearly, and effectively “manage up” when needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
- 7 to 10 years of experience ideally in venture capital or private equity
- Solid understanding of GAAP
- Strong Excel skills including work with pivot tables; QBO, Expensify, and experience desired but not required
