The expected pay range for this position is $116,995 to $120,000 per annum for hybrid positions. Financial Management Services (FMS), within Business Affairs, is responsible for financial policy oversight, quality assurance, and financial services at Stanford University and its affiliated entities, serving as a liaison to hospitals and SLAC. Job PurposePerform complex treasury and finance functions and/or activities requiring advanced knowledge and application of internal policies, external regulations, precedents, and systems. May manage a key area within a finance operation or department/unit.
CORE DUTIES- Provide analytical support to evaluate the University’s cash, financing, and investment needs; conduct affordability studies; establish the University’s Budgeted Interest Rate; perform quantitative analysis and develop complex financial models for debt portfolio decisions. Includes forecasting debt uses, evaluating debt capacity, determining internal borrowing rates, and developing cash flow projections for long-term obligations.
- Develop budgets and forecasting scenarios or debt capacity analyses; long-range planning and analyses for financial reporting and presentations for senior management and rating agencies; design and run ad hoc reports.
- Ensure timely disclosure of financial information to investors in Stanford’s debt securities; implement approved changes; monitor internal debt portfolio and use of funds to ensure compliance with regulations, liquidity requirements, and financial covenants. Manage compliance programs and create complex compliance reports.
- Provide analytical support for public debt offerings, RFPs from underwriters, review of public offering documents, and presentations of the University’s credit profile to rating agencies.
- Assist in developing complex analyses to evaluate debt financing strategies. As part of the bond financings team: assist in preparation and evaluation of RFPs, structuring transactions, due diligence, rating agency materials, coordinating bond closings; coordinate interaction with investment banks, law firms, rating agencies, and senior management.
- Perform ad hoc analyses of large data sets; reconcile complex accounts; identify and resolve issues spanning multiple areas.
- Construct and assemble data for budgeting and decision making; develop conclusions and present high-level recommendations; may develop annual department/unit budgets.
- Conduct analysis, resolve issues, and propose solutions that may require policy changes or new processes; maintain a broad organizational perspective in decision making.
- Execute internal control programs, research new regulations, and implement changes; manage compliance programs and create complex reports.
