As a Software QA Engineer within our Autonomy Integration team, you will play a crucial role in advancing our AI platform's integration with vehicles and humanoid robotics. You'll be at the forefront of testing and validating features that leverage the power of Tesla AI, ensuring reliable and safe operation according to system requirements.

You will be responsible for identifying gaps in test coverage, constructing scenarios that exercise fail-operational behaviors, and publishing reliability metrics. Your tests will execute on SIL/HIL and real-time simulation frameworks, ensuring correct operation of features at the convergence of AI solutions, system interfaces, sensors, actuators, and applications.

What You'll Do
  • Work with software developers and hardware designers to cultivate an expert understanding of sensors, actuators, AI models, and their interfaces with the AI computer
  • Develop and execute comprehensive system and sub-system level test specifications and test plans and provide feedback to development team
  • Identify risks to interfaces and mechanisms that enable redundancy and fail-operational behaviors
  • Use AI-driven tools to design and execute tests and evaluate results efficiently and repeatedly on HIL/SIL and real-time simulation environments
  • Investigate field issues through data analysis and issue reproduction
  • Navigate production source code to identify and debug issues and propose robust solutions
  • Participate in the development of technical safety requirements and associated validation plans according to common industry standards (ISO 26262) in support of functional safety objectives
  • Monitor live performance of deployed builds in the field to identify regressions, anomalies, and long-term trends, and feed insights back into validation, testing, and release decisions
What You'll Bring
  • Practical experience developing for test frameworks in Python and debugging production C++ codebases
  • Experience with embedded systems software and hardware design concepts
  • Experience with automotive communication standards such as CAN, Ethernet, TCP/IP
  • Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills

Expected Compensation

$132,000 - $330,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
