What to Expect
The Failure Analysis Team's mission is to determine root cause and contributing factors to improve the experience of Tesla's products by reducing field issues, in collaboration with a community of other engineering teams. Engineers and technicians on the team are responsible for a wide variety of vehicle and energy product systems for existing models and models in development. This extremely high visibility individual contributor role requires extensive hands‑on work focused on CT scanning for electromechanical failure analysis and root cause activities.
In this role, you will oversee daily lab operations, ensuring safety and efficiency in high-volume failure analysis. You will manage technicians, prioritize workflow to meet QA/QC deadlines, and coordinate with engineering teams to escape critical findings. This role requires maintaining equipment compliance and enforcing accountability within the team.

What You'll Do- Supervise technicians in daily lab operations and equipment usage
- Prioritize workflow to align with QA/QC deadlines for production lines
- Train technicians on equipment operation and safety protocols
- Coordinate with engineering teams to escape critical findings
- Maintain equipment calibration and lab organization
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of experience in failure analysis or related fields (e.g., metrology, NDT), including
- 2+ years in a supervisory role
- Strong organizational and conflict‑resolution skills
- Ability to enforce accountability and resolve team conflicts

$96,000 - $144,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits.
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
