What to Expect
The Failure Analysis Team's mission is to determine root cause and contributing factors to improve the experience of Tesla products by reducing field issues, in collaboration with large cross-sections of other engineering teams. You will be responsible for a wide variety of Energy Product systems like Powerwall, Megapack and Supercharger that have high visibility and direct customer impact.
We are seeking a multi-faceted individual who will be responsible for all aspects of product teardown to component level, identifying, analyzing, root causing, implementing countermeasures, and reporting on issues affecting systems including power electronics, low voltage, and battery systems among others.
To be effective, the Technician will need to be intimately familiar with the detailed behavior of electrical components and tools for testing and debugging printed circuit boards. They will work with other engineering teams to quickly determine root cause and implement countermeasures of field issues to improve quality, reliability, and durability of the products.
What You'll Do- Drive issue resolution from root cause analysis to countermeasure implementation on electromechanical components from Tesla's Energy Products
- Use analytical tools and techniques including electrical debug, component level inspection, and functional testing
- Interface with engineers to drive resolution to the problems you have identified
- Responsible for developing debug procedures for other technicians to follow
- Detail-oriented, capable of working independently, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- 2+ years of lab experience required
- 1+ years of experience with PCB debugging preferred
- Strong demonstrable experience with electrical test equipment:
Power Supplies, Multimeter, Oscilloscopes, and other common equipment - Extremely proficient at reading schematics and troubleshooting analog and digital circuits
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
- Proficient in data entry and writing procedures

$24.40 - $50.40/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits

The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
