Supplier Industrialization Engineer, Solar – Tesla

Join Tesla’s Supplier Industrialization team responsible for critical component development and qualification activities  role involves communicating with internal and external teams, traveling to suppliers in different regions, and making on‑the‑spot critical decisions to deliver high‑quality component parts on time into Tesla’s production processes.

• Plan, organize, direct, and conduct industrialization activities within the Tesla Solar supply chain team focused on solar cell processes – polysilicon refining, ingot, wafer, cell.
• Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) at suppliers and drive supplier improvements in scalability, cost, and quality.
• Track and improve supplier manufacturing process development and launch readiness for new products and design changes.
• Facilitate communication and clarification of technical requirements between suppliers and Tesla Solar engineering, purchasing, and quality teams.
• Conduct supplier audits to ensure compliance with part performance, delivery, and reliability expectations.
• Collaborate with Tesla design, quality, and manufacturing to set performance specifications and supplier metrics.
• Provide input on new materials, design concepts, and manufacturing processes to improve design, manufacturability, or cost.
• Develop, manage, audit, and improve supplier planning and execution of component manufacturing and assembly techniques and quality control from advanced development to mass‑production qualification.
• Guide suppliers to develop robust processes that promote efficient, high‑quality production.
• Validate supplier corrective actions involving design or process changes to ensure they are robust, sustainable, and widely implemented.

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Excellent communication skills to direct supplier activities at the management level and proven results in meeting customer requirements.
• Experience with equipment commissioning or process development is a plus.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities; previous experience managing complex, fast‑moving projects.

$104,000 – $197,160 annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits. Pay offered may vary based on location, knowledge, skills, and experience. Total compensation may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
