What To ExpectThe Failure Analysis Team’s mission is to determine root cause and contributing factors to improve Tesla’s products in collaboration with a large cross‑section of other engineering teams. Engineers and Technicians on the team who you will be working with are responsible for a wide variety of Vehicle and Energy systems including the existing fleet and new products under development. This is a high‑visibility, individual contributor role that requires extensive hands‑on failure analysis lab tools and equipment.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM) and urgent curative repairs on complex lab instruments (e.g., analytical, testing, production equipment)
- Control, inspect, and calibrate test and measurement tools to maintain accuracy
- Diagnose and fix electrical, mechanical, and software issues with lab apparatus
- Keep records of maintenance, repairs, and calibration
- Work with lab technician monitoring, restocking, and organizing lab supplies, tools, and ensuring safety compliance with our EHS team (SOPs)
- 2‑5+ years of experience in mechanical or facility maintenance within industrial, commercial, or R&D environments
- Associate degree or trade school completion preferred
- Strong technical skills in mechanical repairs and installations, with knowledge of relevant codes and safety regulations
- Familiarity with laboratory facility needs, including ventilation, cleanroom support, and specialized utilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with strong problem‑solving and organizational skills

$24.40 – $56.40/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits. Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
