The Auto-Labeling and Data Loop team is responsible for data‑driven improvement of Rivian’s Perception System. Specifically, the team is responsible for the offboard models and algorithms that provide ground truth. They also manage the tools, processes, and operations to continuously produce a larger and more diverse dataset.

In this role, you will be responsible for leading the Auto-Labeling and Data Loop teams. This includes setting the technical direction for how we drive improvement in the Perception System through data and ensuring that we continuously deliver improved autonomy performance and capabilities to our customers.

• Set the technical direction and lead the planning, design, and implementation of an accurate, scalable, and reliable Auto‑Labeling System to supervise our Perception System.
• Drive continuous improvement in our onboard performance by understanding current limitations and addressing them through improved training data. This includes improving accuracy, diversity, scale, and adding new features to support product expansion.
• Manage the operations that continuously improve our training and evaluation datasets, including curation and dataset generation.
• Work with our ML Infrastructure team to build the tools that allow our data operations to scale efficiently.
• Lead technical teams and mentor team members, both individual contributors and people managers, championing best practices, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.

• Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Extensive professional experience in Machine Learning for Perception and Robotics with a track record of delivering results in high‑complexity systems and managing high‑performing ML teams.
• Extensive professional experience in Software Development and managing high‑performing software teams.
• Strong problem‑solving and coordination skills and an ability to operate effectively in a highly cross‑functional and fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent team player with strong communication and presentation skills.

Salary Range for California Based Applicants: $ - $ (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
