Teach Play Learn is a trusted partner providing tailored, holistic learning solutions for the whole family, from preschool through adult students. We are currently seeking an educator, with priority given to those with Special Education (SPED) experience, who is available during morning hours in-person position in the Palo Alto area.
Immediate Placement ForElementary instructor to provide high-quality, personalized homeschool learning support for a student with special needs.
- Schedule: Mon, Tues, Thurs 8am-10am with possibility to extend hours
- Experience: elementary-aged students with Special Needs (specifically with autism, adhd, and/or dyslexia)
- Compensation: $60/hour
We seek energetic, engaging, and multi-passionate educators who can bring diverse skill sets and a play-forward approach to teaching.
Required Qualifications- At least a Bachelor's degree.
- Reliable transportation for in-home services.
- An experienced educator/mentor with confidence in creative teaching strategies, scaffolding, and resourceful instructional practices.
- An ability to communicate clearly, compassionately, and competently with all involved parties (students, parents, school staff, etc.).
- Tech savvy (for video conferencing, online accounting, and session reporting).
- Cleared background check. (Roles involving minors are subject to enhanced background eligibility requirements.)
- Experience in Special Education (SPED) and the ability to implement personalized learning strategies and accommodations.
- Familiarity with IEPs, 504s, ALPs, and/or other specialized learning documents.
- Experience in supporting students to develop Executive Function skills.
- Experience with reading intervention programs (e.g., LMB, Orton-Gillingham, Wilson).
- Multi-subject and grade level experience (PreK – 12th grade).
- SPED classroom teaching experience or extensive experience working with neurodivergent students.
