From the Doerr School of Sustainability’s Dean’s Office, the education and community team oversees recruitment, degrees, curricula, student policies, partnerships, and the development and delivery of non-degree educational programming (professional development, community building, retention, and student well-being).

The education and community team is seeking an administrative and events Program Coordinator to provide administrative, operational, and programmatic support for a range of student and faculty-focused activities across the School. The program coordinator will support the activities in areas such as professional and career development, community building, educational program development, strategic planning and more. The position will work closely with the Assistant Deans of Student Affairs, Experiential Education, and Access, Belonging & Community.

This position will need to act independently, establishing priorities and identifying and resolving problems that are administrative or operational in nature.

Your Responsibilities Will Include
  • Organize and help execute program-specific activities through logistical support, including scheduling and calendaring, ordering food, reserving rooms, developing marketing materials, field trip transportation, onboarding of summer research interns, etc.
  • Process and monitor financial transactions related to these activities; ensuring activities stay within the budget.
  • Play a critical administrative support role in strategic planning for SDSS’s efforts in the areas of educational and co-curricular programs.
  • Plan events for faculty related to onboarding, mentoring, and community building
  • Provide general support to program staff and student leaders on university financial processes.
  • Support team needs and team building events
  • Manage the student lounge space
