Overview
The Department of Urology at Stanford University School of Medicine seeks a fellowship-trained urologic oncologist to join our expanding East Bay Cancer Care Program. The position will be based at the Stanford Medicine - Sutter Health Cancer Center, Oakland, CA. This center will function as a central hub for comprehensive, multidisciplinary cancer care. Inpatient surgical care will be provided primarily at the adjacent Alta Bates Summit Medical Center.
Responsibilities- Establish a robust, sub-specialized clinical program with a multidisciplinary approach, working closely with medical and radiation oncologists in the Center.
- Provide clinical care as part of a team with inpatient/outpatient advanced practice providers (APPs) and 24-hour hospitalist coverage.
- Participate in education of fellows and residents and engage in clinical research programs.
- Engage in collaboration with the main Stanford campus in Palo Alto through hybrid faculty meetings, grand rounds, tumor boards, and research and teaching conferences.
- Access clinical and academic mentorship through the broader Stanford Urology Department and Stanford Cancer Center communities.
- Fellowship training in urologic oncology with SUO-certified oncology fellowship.
- Prior practice experience in an academic-affiliated program or private practice is highly valued.
- Ability to contribute to clinical care, teaching, administration and/or scholarship as part of the Clinician Educator (CE) line. Academic rank determined by qualifications and experience.
The position will be at the Clinical Assistant Professor or Clinical Associate Professor level in the Clinician Educator (CE) Line at Stanford University. The major criterion for appointment is excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, teaching, administration and/or scholarship appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill.
Compensation and BenefitsThe expected base pay ranges are:
- Clinical Assistant Professor: $372,000 – $399,000
- Clinical Associate Professor: $426,000 – $462,000
This pay range reflects base pay and may not include all components of faculty compensation or pay from participation in departmental incentive compensation programs. Stanford University has provided a pay range representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for the position.
The pay offered will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, years in rank, training, internal equity, and external market pay for comparable jobs.
