Summary

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) – a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program approval – award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application.

Former EDRP participants are ineligible to apply.

Qualifications
  • United States Citizenship (non‑citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA policy).
  • Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
  • The degree must have been obtained from a school approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed.
  • Current full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a state, territory, or the District of Columbia.
  • Residency training approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification.
  • VA physicians involved in academic training programs may be required to be board certified for faculty status. Approved residencies include ACGME‑accredited programs, AOA‑accredited programs, and other non‑US residencies followed by a minimum of five years of verified practice in the United States.
  • Physician Resident Providers (PRPs) may be appointed on an intermittent or fee basis and are not considered independent practitioners; they perform restricted duties under supervision.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.
  • Additional requirement:
    Board certified in Neuroradiology.
  • Preferred experience:

    Neuroradiology imaging experience.
  • Physical requirements:

    Must meet physical standards for the position, pass a physical examination prior to placement, and undergo random drug testing. Must be able to lift 15‑44 pounds, push for approximately 2 hours, reach above the shoulder, use fingers and both hands, walk and stand for 3‑5 hours, kneel, demonstrate rapid mental and muscular coordination, and have depth perception.
Duties
  • This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT and will remain open until February 18, 2026.
  • The initial cut‑off date for referral of eligible applications will be December 31, 2025, with subsequent cut‑off dates every two weeks.

  • Pay:
