Tax Preparer

Description We are looking for an experienced Tax Preparer to join our team on a contract basis during the upcoming tax season. This role is based in Palo Alto, California, and offers an opportunity to contribute your expertise to a fast-paced environment. The position requires proficiency in tax preparation, computer literacy, and familiarity with relevant software tools.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare individual federal and California state income tax returns accurately and efficiently.

- Utilize Intuit Lacerte Tax software to process and file tax documents.

- Organize and manage incoming tax documents, ensuring all required forms are accounted for and properly categorized.

- Assist with the intake process for tax-related materials, identifying and compiling essential documentation.

- Apply detailed knowledge of Federal and California tax regulations to ensure compliance.

- Maintain organized records and documentation to streamline the preparation process.

- Use Thomson Reuters Sure Prep software to enhance workflow and accuracy.

- Communicate effectively with clients and team members to address questions and clarify requirements.

- Manage workloads during peak tax season, ensuring punctual and precise delivery of services. Requirements - Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in individual tax preparation.

- Proficiency in using Intuit Lacerte Tax software.

- Solid understanding of Federal and California state income tax regulations.

- Familiarity with Thomson Reuters Sure Prep software is highly preferred.

- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

- Ability to identify and categorize various tax documents accurately.

- Computer literacy and comfort with tax-specific software tools.

- Punctuality and reliability during busy tax season deadlines.
