Job Description:

Production and Process Technologies is seeking a Project Engineer who is eager to

learn and grow within a project-focused engineering environment. This role

offers hands-on experience across planning, coordination, and technical work, with

room to grow into eventually managing projects independently, leading teams,

and taking ownership of exciting initiatives.

Job Duties:

• Assist project management with day-to-day planning, coordination, scheduling, and administrative support.

• Monitor project progress and ensure timely completion of tasks.

• Prepare, maintain, and organize project documentation, equipment lists, P&IDs, and AutoCAD drawings.

• Support procurement activities, including obtaining quotes, creating purchase orders, ordering materials, and tracking deliveries.

• Maintain internal tracking of materials, costs, and project budgets.

• Coordinate with field crews to ensure materials, tools, and information are available on site.

• Respond to technical and project-related questions from field teams and internal stakeholders.

• Participate in internal and client meetings, providing follow-up, documentation, and coordination support.

• Support permit preparation, site walks, and verification of project conditions.

• Assist with project startup, flushing, testing, and commissioning activities.

• Prepare and maintain SPAs and other required project documentation.

• Support job quoting, estimating, and project closeout activities.
• Follow up with internal teams, vendors, and subcontractors to maintain schedules and project timelines.

Education and Experience:

• 4 year engineering degree preferred.

• Minimum 3-5 years experience in the industry.

• Prior exposure to mechanical, industrial, or construction-related environments preferred.

Required Skills:

• Mechanical aptitude with basic understanding of mechanical or process systems.

• Technical problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Strong work ethic and willingness to learn and grow in a hands-on engineering environment.

• Reliable, punctual, and able to manage time effectively.

• Ability to take initiative, work independently, and learn through experience.

• Comfortable working in both office and field environments.

• Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

• Demonstrate and uphold PPT Florida’s core values, including respect, communication, integrity, and accountability.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

• Office environment with roughly 50% travel to construction sites or field locations, primarily in Florida.

• May require lifting and carrying items up to 25 pounds.

• Must be able to wear appropriate PPE when visiting job sites.

• Dynamic project-driven environment – While primarily standard business hours, the position may occasionally require extended hours, evenings, or weekend availability to support project needs, site activities, or time-sensitive issues.
