Position: Graduate Leadership Development Program (Construction)

Program Summary

Peckham’s Graduate Leadership Development Program is an 18–24-month rotational program designed to develop future leaders within Peckham Industries’ Construction businesses. Participants rotate through core functional areas including Estimating and Bid Preparation, Project Management, Intro to XBE including financials and job monitoring, safety and more.

Our program, designed to foster future leaders, will allow you to develop your decision-making, communication, and technical skills, with the help of personal mentors and hands on learning. Upon graduation, you will be placed in a key role contributing to the business unit.

Program Learnings
  • Protect Family and Friends through employee engagement, prioritizing zero incidents, and complying with all company and federal safety policies and procedures. The role is obligated to be proactive and take necessary corrective actions to resolve safety related issues and to ensure a safe workplace. It is essential to maintain a safety culture that fosters openness, innovation, idea sharing, and actions to improve.

Requirements, Education And Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, or a closely related field. An Associate’s degree may be considered with strong academic performance and relevant construction, heavy civil, materials, field operations, internship, or co-op experience.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.5 or higher preferred.
  • Strong listening skills with the ability to communicate effectively across field and office environments.
  • Highly organized with effective time-management and prioritization skills in a fast-paced construction setting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, Teams, and Word.
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to interact with project teams, supervisors, and clients.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability, adaptability, and willingness to learn across multiple construction disciplines.
  • High degree of accuracy, thoroughness, and attention to detail, particularly related to safety, quality, and project documentation.
  • Must possess a clean driving record and have reliable transportation to travel to job sites as required.
  • Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.

Travel

Position may require up to 20% travel by personal vehicle to offices throughout the state of New York, and New England based on the needs of the business.

Work Environment/Physical Demands

Medium Work:
May be required to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up-to 10 pounds of force frequently, and or a negligible amount of force constant to move objects. Job involves sitting, standing, walking, climbing, reaching, and bending for brief periods of time in all types of weather. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, to communicate to employees/visitors.

This position is also occasionally set in a professional work environment.
