Job Summary

New Horizons is seeking a highly motivated Construction Manager for employment in our Palmer, Alaska office. The basic function of the Construction Manager is to provide administrative construction support and direction to field personnel. Projects may require the Project Manager to perform non‑local travel to facilities and other destinations in Alaska.

Key Responsibilities
  • In addition, the Construction Manager will be responsible for the following:
  • Daily coordination of New Horizons field crew resources, tower technicians, electricians, and civil construction personnel.
  • Fielding personnel, material, and site‑specific scoping concerns and needs.
  • Logistics coordination.
  • Interpreting and maintaining job specific construction documentation.
  • Read and understand construction documentation and be able to compile material take‑offs and order materials based on project designs.
  • Daily updates and reporting on field activities, communicating daily to project stakeholders.
  • Preparing and maintaining construction schedules.
  • Receive, maintain, and submit site deliverables and close out package (COP) documentation.
  • Ensuring that Field Personnel have been provided direction, instructions, and information to accurately perform scope of work to installation specifications, governing standards, and customer requirements.
  • Ensures that all safety regulations/policies, company policies, and municipal/regulating authority requirements or regulations are enforced and followed by New Horizons employees and subcontractors as applicable.
  • Assisting Field Crew members in resolving any/all problem/issues that may arise on a job site.
Qualifications
  • 5 Years of Experience in the Telecommunication Industry preferred
  • Minimum of 2 Years of Experience in Construction Management
  • Must have the ability to effectively manage large, multi‑discipline construction projects from start to completion.
  • Must be able to successfully plan, prepare, direct, control, and coordinate projects and personnel in a cost‑efficient manner.
  • Must possess the ability to work closely with diverse groups of people, including Company employees at all levels, clients, vendors, and other outside companies and individuals with whom the Company deals with on a regular basis.
  • Have a working knowledge of Microsoft 365 Office suite programs and computer‑based scheduling software.
  • Must be a United States Citizen and obtain and maintain a minimum Public Trust Clearance.
  • Alaska Driver’s License required
Proficiency in
  • MS 365 Office (Excel, Word, TEAMS, Outlook)
  • Adobe Acrobat or Blue Beam Review (preferred)

  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • This position is open only to candidates who currently reside in Alaska due to business and employment compliance requirements

Hourly Rate: $32.00 per hour/$66,560 per year
