Administrative Officer 1 – Palmer, AK
This position is open to Alaska residents only. Please confirm residency eligibility.
What you will be doing- Supervise and guide all administrative functions for the Division of Wildlife Conservation’s Central/Southwest Region (Region IV).
- Direct and supervise budget development, accounting and financial management, personnel management, procurement/purchasing, policy and procedure development, facility management, and special projects.
- Provide daily support to the Regional Supervisor for budget and forecasting.
- Directly supervise one Accounting Technician I and one Administrative Assistant II; indirectly supervise three field‑office staff.
- Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel), IRIS FIN/HRM, ALDER, APS, and TEARS.
- Excellent organizational and electronic information‑storage skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to prioritize workloads.
- Education/
Experience:
Any combination of preparatory post‑secondary education and/or experience that provides competencies in administration, management, financial management, and communication. - Required experience in administrative support, business administration, public administration, finance, or related fields.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Work with a dynamic, highly educated group of professionals dedicated to wildlife conservation.
