Job Duties And Responsibilities
  • Provide best‑in‑class guest service: promptly greet guests, respond to questions and concerns courteously, assist quests for video gaming needs, inform about special promotions and the trade‑in program, recommend additional items, apply all selling behaviors, and express gratitude to each guest.
  • Support the overall shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, and nurture guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business.
  • Process guest purchases and returns accurately via the Point‑of‑Sale (POS) computer system, ensuring top‑notch service.
  • Address guest comments or questions in person or over the phone, answering calls promptly and professionally.
  • Promote Game Stop’s unique guest benefits, such as the new title reservations program and the Pro Rewards loyalty program.
  • Maintain store cleanliness and organization, including restrooms, and ensure all fixtures and equipment are operational.
  • Complete Omni‑Channel orders daily.
  • Safeguard company assets through effective inventory control and loss prevention practices, including scam awareness, safety best practices, and prudent bank deposits.
  • Conduct store inventory counts, stock/resstocks shelves and fixtures, and move products from the stock room to the front of the store to ensure proper representation.
  • Support store management in meeting and exceeding sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete required administrative and operational duties.
  • Count, balance, and reconcile daily business transaction totals accurately in the POS system; finalize all closeout paperwork and bank deposit slips appropriately.
  • Inspect shipments for discrepancies or shortages, record discrepancies in the POS system, and report to the manager as needed.
  • Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls accurately, ensuring proper labeling with packing lists.
  • Visually inspect associates’ and leaders’ packages or belongings at closing or end of shift.
  • Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates in the absence of management.
  • Adhere consistently to Game Stop policies and procedures, including the Associate Handbook and the Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct.
  • Follow all opening and closing procedures.
  • Observe associate performance and provide timely and appropriate feedback to store management.
Qualifications
  • Proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States.
  • Minimum age 18 years.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least one year of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred.
  • Video game knowledge preferred.
  • Ability to work alone, stand, and move throughout the store unassisted for up to 10 hours per day.
