Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
Greet, engage, and assist customers actively and visibly.Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.Understand the Point of Sale (POS) system and handle various tenders such as Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, Rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures according to company policy.Adhere to company limits on cash shortages and overages, working honestly to control loss.Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.Stay current with advertisements and promotions.Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.Follow safety procedures, report unsafe conditions or incidents.Inspect equipment and report repairs needed.Create a welcoming environment for customers, answering questions about products.Comply with all applicable laws and company policies.Work effectively in high-paced, stressful environments and manage conflicts cooperatively.Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.Follow directions and seek assistance when needed.Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.Qualifications
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Customer service experience
- Effective communication skills
- Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction)
Desired Previous Job Experience:
- Customer service experience
- Experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk
