Associate Director, Influencer Marketing & PR

Small Girls PR is looking for an Associate Director of Influencer and PR with 5-7 years of experience to manage overarching strategy, client relationships, concept novel initiatives that drive social virality and press headlines, manage deliverables for integrated campaigns, and oversee a team of junior staffers. This role will work with a wide range of creative and innovative brands across food & beverage, wellness, consumer tech, and more.

There is no one-size-fits-all for an SGPR client which means your career will be further enriched with meaningful and diversified experience. We've taken on the main stage at CES, announced Esusu as one of the first Black-owned tech unicorns, cheered on the powerful women of the WNBA with a well-known ticketing platform, helped pet owners communicate with their dogs through a psychic for Rover, and piloted influencer marketing programs for B2B brands.

Lead campaign "Ring’s Great Ghost Search," a lighthearted campaign calling on consumers to capture ghosts on their home cameras. By enlisting Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard and an array of comedic influencers to participate, the campaign drove mass awareness and broad positive sentiment across earned media and social channels.

Note:

This role can be based in either our NYC or LA office, working two days a week in the office on a hybrid schedule.

How you’ll make an impact:
  • Drive long‑term strategy and create tentpole campaigns for a range of clients on both retainer and project‑based engagements.
  • Manage expectations, set goals, timelines, and deliverables, meeting or exceeding client KPIs – both qualitative and quantitative.
  • Originate out‑of‑the‑box ideas that strengthen client marketplace positioning and earn attention through press placements and earned talkability above paid influencer deliverables.
  • Collaborate across disciplines to create and execute integrated campaigns, working with Experiential, Paid Media, Strategy, Creative/Content, Measurement, and more.
  • Participate in new business meetings and proposals alongside senior leadership, contributing to business development and growth initiatives.
  • Manage and mentor junior team members and freelancers, ensuring quality and breadth of their work.
  • Provide thought leadership, elevate client work, and push the boundaries of influencer marketing & PR, keeping SGPR ahead of industry trends.
  • Lead the overall management and execution of paid and earned influencer programming across tiers of influencers and platforms (Instagram, Tik Tok, You Tube, Linked In, Substack, Podcast, etc.), including influencer identification, outreach, negotiation, contracting.
  • Manage budgets to ensure cost‑effectiveness and strong ROI.
  • Maintain a deep and diversified network of influencer and agent relationships, negotiating efficient rates.
  • Develop insights that capture quantitative and qualitative results (reach, impressions, clicks, CPM, CPC, CTR, etc.) and use them to strengthen future recommendations.
  • Generate earned press strategies, targeting new and evolving media including Substacks and podcasts.
  • Maintain a deep and diversified network of press friendlies for placements.
  • Shape ideas for maximum earned impact, steering clients toward success.
