We’re looking for a Field Service Technician to join our After‑Sales Support Team in Palmdale, CA

Job Summary

As a Field Service Technician, you'll be the face of our technical expertise, responsible for installing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and optimizing equipment at customer facilities. You’ll also lead technical training and acceptance testing, resolve field issues, and ensure long‑term equipment performance. This position blends advanced electrical, mechanical, and software expertise with a customer‑focused, solution‑oriented mindset.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform programming, calibration, adjustment, and verification tasks for CNC/PLC systems.
  • Interface with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to meet requirements and exceed expectations.
  • Conduct on‑site acceptance tests and ensure compliance with customer specs and internal standards.
  • Provide technical solutions during the commissioning and post‑installation service phases.
  • Communicate project status, milestones, and service details to project coordinators and management.
  • Train end‑users on safe and efficient machine operation and the proper use of technical documentation.
  • Develop and maintain technical manuals for troubleshooting, preventive, and corrective maintenance.
  • Maintain organized records, service documentation, and project reports.
  • Comply with all company policies and uphold the highest standards of safety and professionalism.
Required

Skills & Qualifications
  • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident (Green Card) is mandatory.
  • 5+ years of experience with CNC and PLC systems – preferably with Siemens 840D SL and TIA Portal.
  • Proficient in interpreting electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • CNC Software: Siemens Sinumerik Operate – able to troubleshoot and trace alarms to root cause.
  • PLC Software: Siemens TIA Portal v15 – with strong fault diagnosis experience.
  • HMI Software: Experience with SQL Server Management Studio and database interactions.
  • Comfortable replacing plug‑and‑play modules, cable connectors (Ethernet, Profibus, Harting), and mechanical components.
  • Experience with laser alignment tools such as Renishaw laser interferometer or laser tracker for multi‑axis machines.
  • C++ programming skills (Visual Studio Code) are a strong plus.
  • Spanish fluency preferred, but not required.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to lawfully operate a motor vehicle in Canada if needed.
Education & Background
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate’s degree or technical certification in electronics, automation, mechatronics, or a related field preferred.
  • Hands‑on experience in troubleshooting, servicing, and programming CNC/PLC‑driven automation systems.
Working Conditions & Travel
  • Primary location: Palmdale, CA – candidates already located nearby strongly preferred.
  • International and domestic travel is required – all expenses covered (flights, hotels, rental cars).
Shifts
  • Shift 1: Monday – Thursday, 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM
  • Shift 2: Monday – Thursday, 3:00 PM – 1:30 AM
  • Future Shift (potential):
    Friday – Sunday
    , 5:00 AM – 4:30 PM
