Summary
Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is looking for a Facilities Construction Project Management (Level
2) or Principal Facilities Construction Project Management (Level
3) to join our team! This position will be located on site in Palmdale, California.
- This position oversees and manages the facilities projects and construction activities and serves as liaison between leadership, program and other customers.
- Act as primary contact for facilities between customers and maintenance for equipment and machinery project activities.
- Gather, review, and finalize requirements data concerning facility or equipment specifications, company or government restrictions, required completion date, and construction feasibility.
- Plan, design, and oversee the reconfiguration, maintenance, and alteration of equipment, machinery, buildings, structures, and other facilities.
- Coordinate with architecture/engineering firms in developing design criteria and preparing layout and detail drawings.
- Prepare Scopes of Work and supporting documents for procurement of design and construction services.
- Review and estimate costs, including design, equipment, installation, labor, materials, construction, and other related costs.
- Inspect or direct the inspection of construction and installation progress to ensure conformance to established drawings, specifications, and schedules.
- Manage and execute multiple facilities projects simultaneously in a fast paced environment.
- Forecast and report on project status, including key project metrics for Risk, Cost, and Schedule.
- Produce and implement risk mitigation and schedule recovery plans as required.
- Identifies any task that will require special inspection and coordinates with customer and contractors
- Coordinate and update the Air Force as required for projects, budgets, and schedule.
This requisition may be filled as either a Facilities Construction Project Management (Level
2) or Principal Facilities Construction Project Management (Level
3).
- A minimum of high school diploma or GED and 5 years of combined project management, facilities construction project management, or facilities management experience OR with Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years of experience with OR Master’s Degree and 1 year of experience.
- Knowledge of construction related disciplines. Able to communicate effectively and clearly too present technical approaches and findings.
- Must be capable of obtaining and maintaining a DOD Secret Clearance.
- Work with subject matter experts, suppliers, etc. (as required) to quickly and efficiently troubleshoot and solve issues related to mechanical system, machines and or material assemblies.
- Prepares Scopes of Work and supporting documents for procurement of design and construction services.
- A minimum of high school diploma or GED and 8 years of combined project management, facilities construction project management, or facilities management experience OR with Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years of experience with OR Master’s Degree and 4 year of experience.
