Manufacturing Engineer
PGS Worldwide is seeking a Manufacturing Analyst in Palmdale, CA for a 6 month contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This role supports an assembly tooling organization by tracking daily costs, administering earned value management activities, maintaining visibility charts, and providing weekly/monthly status reporting. You will also support tool order closeout and documentation, materials validation against bills of material, internal tooling package development, chemical tracking and inventory, and tooling control/accountability activities, along with technical administrative support for the team.
Required Skills
Bachelor’s degree with 3 years of experience, OR Master’s degree with 1 year of experience, OR 7 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance
Ability to work any shift
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Strong attention to detail, organization, and proactive work style
Strong communication skills
Knowledge of manufacturing methods and fabrication processes (e.g., forming, stamping, machining, heat treatment, machine tools, cutting tools/fluids, N/C programming, instrumentation, data acquisition, control systems)
Project management and leadership experience coordinating tool and fixture design/fabrication requirements with internal and external customers
Preferred Skills
Experience in a manufacturing environment
Cost account management experience
Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
What You’ll Do
Track daily costs and administer earned value management (EVM) activities
Maintain visibility charts and provide weekly and monthly status reports
Close and document tool orders for assembly tooling and validate incoming materials against the bill of material
Develop internal tooling packages and coordinate with support organizations to negotiate schedules with Production, Manufacturing, and Industrial Engineering
Order and record chemical usage and manage inventory in the chemical tracking system
Perform tool control and accountability activities including daily inventory, audits, property, and asset management
Support technical administrative tasks such as certification compliance, staff meetings, team engagement support, onboarding, Concur travel support, and safety focal tasks
Support additional manufacturing and assembly tooling-related duties as required
