The Bar Back is responsible for backing up the bartender by restocking products to ensure bartenders stay fully stocked during events while following all policies and procedures regarding alcohol dispensing. The employee must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work events as scheduled per business need. This role pays an hourly rate of $20.00 and is tip eligible.

When the curtain rises again in December 2025, the Plaza Theatre will be managed by Oak View Group and positioned to offer world-class programming while remaining accessible to all. This project is a collaboration among Oak View Group, the Palm Springs Plaza Theatre Foundation, and the City of Palm Springs.

• Stock bar products, including beverages, ice, clean and maintain bar areas, move kegs, tap kegs, draft beer, and pour wine for guest orders. Restock supplies for bartenders (fruit, napkins, cups, utensils, stirrers).
• Ensure location equipment is operable and clean prior to the start of an event.
• Maintain cleanliness of the bar and surrounding areas following sanitation procedures (mop floors, clean mats, empty/reline trash cans, keep closets clear).
• Recognize guests who may be visibly intoxicated and notify bartenders as needed.
• Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas.
• Demonstrate excellent attendance.

• Ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.
• Clear, respectful communication with employees, management, and guests to foster a positive, cooperative work environment.
• Valid food handling certificate and alcohol service permit if required by state and federal regulations.
• Ability to perform basic math related to inventory (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages).
• Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
• Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume bar environment is preferred.
