Salary Range: $128,960 - $205,920 (based on experience)
Envoy Recruitment is seeking an experienced Group Director of Case Management to lead Case Management, Social Services, and Bed Control operations for a large acute‑care hospital serving a diverse and high‑acuity patient population.
This senior leadership role oversees departmental strategy, operational performance, staff development, regulatory compliance, and resource utilization. The Director ensures smooth coordination across clinical teams, supports efficient care transitions, and drives key metrics such as LOS, avoidable days, and utilization review performance.
This position is ideal for a seasoned RN leader with strong analytical capability, deep case management knowledge, and experience guiding multidisciplinary teams.
Key ResponsibilitiesOperational Leadership
Oversee Case Management, Social Services, and Bed Control, ensuring safe, appropriate, and efficient patient flow
Manage departmental staffing, scheduling, budgets, and ongoing education
Ensure compliance with all internal policies, regulatory requirements, and accreditation standards
Maintain strong communication channels with physicians, physician advisors, nursing, and ancillary teams
Direct evaluation of medical necessity, appropriateness of care, and resource utilization for admissions, continued stays, and discharges
Ensure timely Inter Qual reviews and compliance with utilization review standards
Reduce excess days, avoidable days, and clinical disputes through proactive oversight
Data & Performance ManagementAnalyze key metrics including LOS, Inter Qual outcomes, observation hours, and ALOS
Present data to leadership teams and recommend process improvement initiatives
Participate in Quality, Operational, and Financial improvement meetings
Lead case managers, social workers, and support staff
Foster collaboration across clinical disciplines
Promote professional growth and ensure staff complete CEUs and required competencies
What You BringRequired
Registered Nurse (RN) with BSN
Minimum 3 years of experience as a Case Manager
Extensive management and clinical leadership experience
Demonstrated success improving organizational performance
Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills
Ability to lead and influence multidisciplinary teams
Preferred
Experience in large or multi‑site hospital environments
Physical RequirementsRegular sitting, talking, and use of fine motor skills
Frequent standing and walking; occasional stooping or kneeling
Ability to lift up to 20 lbs regularly and 50 lbs occasionally
Work involves both office and clinical environments
