Under the supervision of a Radiologist, the Nuclear Medicine Technologist shall provide nuclear imaging services to patients, administer radiopharmaceuticals, operate imaging equipment, develop film/images, participate in quality control procedures, and maintain equipment, supplies, and records required for patient documentation, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), and state agencies. The technologist shall maintain all relevant records including receipt, disposal, and administration of radiopharmaceuticals, radioactive survey results, source inventory, and quality control logs.

Salary

$40.00–$70.00 hourly. Individual wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications and experience.

Sign-On Bonus

Up to $20,000 sign‑on bonus available based on experience.

Shift

Full time days.

Required Qualifications
  • Graduate of an AMA approved School of Nuclear Medicine Technology with national certification in Nuclear Medicine Technology by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (Nuclear Medicine Division) and/or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board.
  • Must possess current Certification with the State of California (CRT).
  • Completion of at least two years of college level academic credits with a focus in the physical sciences or other comparable education such as Medical Technologist, Registered Nurse or Registered Radiological Technologist.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS Certification required (maintain current at all times).
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills required to assess and interact with patients, physicians, visitors, staff members and outside agencies.
Preferred

B.S. in Nuclear Medicine Technology.

Department

  • Maintain records for state and NRC review.
  • Communicate with physicians to implant and modify new and existing protocols.
  • Monitor technologists and help maintain an efficient work environment on a daily basis.
  • Help maintain department budget goals.
  • Maintain radiation safety at all times.
