Maintenance Engineer

This is an entry‑level position that performs general repairs in and around the resort as needed. Applicants must have basic electrical, plumbing, and a/c troubleshooting skills and the ability to repair various equipment, fixtures, appliances and electronics in a standard resort environment. On‑the‑job training will be available to refine necessary skills, techniques and procedures.

• Under direction of the Property Operations Supervisor and Director of Property Operations, perform general repair and maintenance of any and all equipment found in and around the resort. Accurate record keeping on assigned tasks is required. Ensure that all safety systems are operable.
• Respond to guest room calls as required within the designated time frame set by the resort.

• Assist other departmental craft workers as required.
• Perform all duties required as a Fire Alarm Response Team member.

High school or equivalent education required. This is an entry‑level position for a candidate that has basic experience in electrical, plumbing, cable television, kitchen equipment and A/C troubleshooting.

• Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the English language.
• Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.
• Requires good verbal and written communication skills.
• Must uphold a clean and respectable general appearance and wear a well‑fitted company uniform.
• Must have all‑around skills and be able to make minor electrical, plumbing, a/c, painting, wallpaper and carpentry repairs.
• Must possess a high level of accuracy and neatness.
• Must apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• This is a hospitality environment that demands high expectations of service to guests, members and fellow service professionals at all times.

• Most work tasks are performed indoors. Temperatures range from moderate controlled indoor environments to extreme temperatures such as freezers (-10°F) and kitchens (+110°F), possibly for one hour or more.
• Must be able to stand, walk, and exert well‑paced mobility for up to 4 hours in duration.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill cleaning and repair/maintenance tasks for extended periods, possibly up to 8 hours.
• Must be able to climb ladders and stairs on a regular basis.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
• Must have the ability to lift and frequently lift 50 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 100 lbs.
• Worker is subject to hazards such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or chemicals.
• Worker is subject to atmospheric conditions that affect the respiratory system or skin, including fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases or poor ventilation.
• Worker is subject to oils, with possible exposure to oils and cutting fluids.
• Requires ability to grasp, write, stand, sit, walk, repeat motions, bend, climb, listen, hear, and have visual acuity.
• Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors, and other employees.
• Vision occurs continuously, with near and color vision and depth perception being essential.

• Must be able to work effectively in a stressful environment, communicate with others, effectively deal with customers and accept constructive criticism from supervisors.
• Must be able to change activity frequently and cope with interruptions.
