School Counselor PK

LCC Day School, a private FCIS Lutheran school, PK‑8 grade in St. Petersburg, FL

This is a full‑time, on‑site role for a School Counselor (PK‑8) based in St. Petersburg, FL. The School Counselor will support students’ academic, social, and emotional development through counseling sessions, group activities, and collaboration with teachers and parents. They will also guide students with academic and career planning, assist in managing students’ mental health and well‑being, and provide a safe and welcoming environment for all students.

The role includes observing and assessing students’ individual and collective needs and facilitating referral services when necessary.

• Skills in Student Counseling and Career Counseling to guide academic and career development effectively.
• Experience in Counseling and Psychology, with the ability to address emotional and behavioral concerns.
• Understanding of Mental Health principles to identify, assess, and address mental health challenges in students.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with students, parents, teachers, and staff.
• Ability to implement and manage counseling programs tailored to PK‑8 students.
• Master’s degree in School Counseling, Psychology, or a related field, and relevant certification or licensure.
• Experience working in an educational setting or with youth populations is highly desirable.
