Job Summary: The Seasonal Food Service Associate plays a vital role in delivering a positive guest experience by preparing and serving food and beverages in a clean, friendly, and efficient manner. This seasonal position supports the zoo’s mission by ensuring guests enjoy high-quality service and experience during their visit. Key Responsibilities:

• Greet guests warmly and provide excellent customer service.

• Prepare and serve food and beverages according to safety and quality standards.

• Operate point-of-sale systems and handle transactions accurately.

• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of food prep areas, dining spaces, and equipment.

• Restock supplies and monitor inventory levels.

• Follow all food safety and health regulations.

• Assist with setup and breakdown of food service stations and dining rooms.

• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth daily operations.

• Uphold The Living Desert’s mission of desert conservation through preservation, education, & awareness.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous food service or retail experience is a plus.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, exciting environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic math skills and ability to operate a POS System & register.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 40 lbs.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and flexible shifts.

Additional Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must pass a background check.
• Must have a current Food Handlers Permit & RBS Certification
