AboutThe Role
As a Registered Nurse (Travel Medicine), you will play a key role in preparing clients for international travel through personalized consultations, vaccine administration, and education. This is a unique opportunity to combine clinical skills with proactive, client‑centered care in a dynamic, independent, and consultative setting where you can take ownership of your work.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct individualized pre‑travel consultations based on clinical guidelines and standing orders
- Administer vaccines safely and effectively, monitoring for any adverse reactions
- Educate clients on travel‑related diseases, destination‑specific risks, and prevention strategies
- Recommend and discuss appropriate vaccines, medications, and travel health products that support safe, confident travel
- Deliver exceptional customer service in both clinic and off‑site settings (e.g., corporate wellness events)
- Participate in ongoing travel medicine and company training
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, medical directives, and documentation standards
- Assist with clinic operations, including inventory, organization, and cleanliness
- Maintain a clean, well‑stocked, and professional clinical environment
- Active RN license in good standing
- 1+ year of clinical experience (travel medicine or public health experience is a plus)
- Strong comfort level administering vaccines; ability to perform blood draws if required
- Some Passport Health locations conduct immigration physicals, which may involve blood collection
- Proficiency in using technology, especially Google Workspace (Gmail, Docs, Drive, Meet)
- Access to a personal computer for initial training and communication
- Ability to confidently work independently while providing consultative, client‑focused care
- Comfort discussing services, recommending products, and obtaining payment in a professional and client‑centered manner
- Flexibility to work a census‑based, seasonal schedule, with priority given to those available on weekends or across multiple clinic locations
- Availability to travel locally for off‑site events and participate in rotating Saturday coverage
- Ability to lift, transport, and manage vaccine inventory and clinic supplies
- Excellent communication, organizational, and client‑facing skills
- Experience in a private clinic or public health setting
- Interest in travel, or infectious disease prevention
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, self‑directed environment that values independence and initiative
- Strong problem‑solving and time‑management skills
We follow a census‑based scheduling model, similar to hospital environments. Hours may vary based on clinic volume, with seasonal increases during peak travel months. Candidates with flexible availability—including weekends and willingness to support multiple locations—are prioritized for scheduling.
