What You Will Have an Opportunity to DoWe are looking for a leader passionate about culinary arts to join our Culinary team as a Chef de Cuisine. This individual must have experience working in a high‑volume professional kitchen, be creative, motivated, and a hands‑on leader. Successful candidates will have a proven track record of developing creative menus, responding to guests and staff professionally, and being a teacher of the culinary arts supporting their team both personally and professionally.
YourRole
- You will serve as the “Face” of the restaurant in the hotel and community
- You will create, cost, and implement seasonal menus and special menus
- You will attract, retain, and mentor the best culinary talent
- You will complete the daily ordering using the current par levels for the restaurant
- You will collaborate with the Restaurant Manager to exceed guest expectations
- You will train the restaurant culinary and operations team on the menu and daily specials
- You will conduct daily walk‑throughs of the kitchen, make recommendations for corrections, repairs, cleanliness concerns and improvements if needed
- You will conduct daily meetings with the team to ensure their preparation, communicating all pertinent information
- You will attend weekly F&B meetings, leadership meetings, and monthly safety meetings representing the culinary team
- You will be the example that the culinary team follows
- You will manage costs related to the restaurant, analyse and control costs to achieve a profitable operation
- You will have thorough knowledge of food allergens and handle any guest with food allergies with a high sense of urgency
- You will work with the culinary team to ensure prep sheets are updated and properly used daily
- You will guide the nightly cleaning of all kitchen areas, following up with the stewarding crew to ensure the dish area is clean and organized for the following day’s service
- Someone passionate about developing a culinary team
- Someone with a flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays
- Someone with experience as a cook in a high‑volume professional kitchen, with a leadership capacity
- Someone with full knowledge of the state’s health codes as well as the ECOSURE food safety and health report
- Someone with an active Food Handler’s certification (a plus, training provided as needed)
- Someone with strong organisational skills
- Someone who is able to work independently
- At least 21 years of age
- Have a desire to exceed expectations
- An energetic personality
$75,000
Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.
