Activities Assistant - Senior Living Facility (Sunday & Monday's)
Grand Villa of Palm Coast is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Recreational Therapist to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional passionate about enhancing the quality of life for seniors, particularly those with dementia. The ideal candidate will bring creativity, empathy, and a flexible work schedule to support our residents' well-being and engagement.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement therapeutic recreational activities tailored to the needs and interests of senior residents, including those with dementia.
- Assess residents' functional abilities and interests to create personalized activity plans.
Facilitate group and individual activities that promote socialization, cognitive stimulation, and physical activity. - Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure activities align with residents' care plans.
- Monitor and document residents' participation and progress in recreational programs.
- Maintain a safe and welcoming environment during all activities.
- Prior experience working with seniors, especially those with dementia.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule on Sundays and Mondays.
- Creativity and enthusiasm for engaging seniors in meaningful activities.
- Knowledge of best practices in recreational therapy and senior care.
